Description

I thought it was about time for a new ID. Anyway, this was the result of a new lineless technique which takes longer than everything else I do put together. I started this back in December of last year, that's how long this takes.

This is what I imagine Fluffy to look like, stripped of my cartoony style. I'm extremely proud of this, except for the horns. They came out pretty badly compared to the rest of it, I don't really like the ridges on them.

Plus this is one of the first times I've actually been bothered to draw scales, these ones were based on those of a crocodile, if you're wondering.

I was going to do his whole body but since this had been lying unfinished for so long I decided to just finish the head and leave it at that.

The mouth's my favourite part, although it's just a shame I covered some of it up with the fire.

Anyway, feedback is loved, so tell me what you think :)

Alright. So, although you are very proud of th mouth, you did ask for feedback so I will give it. Your jaw-line is I think what bothers me most. If you look at the perspective of the forehead, muzzle, and the jaw it all seems out of place from one another. Try holding your left hand in the same angle and perspective as the head. Then hold your right hand in the same position as the lower jaw with the same angle as that, then try to connect those lines. Although it appears almost as if the jay is sideways based on the view, The angles are still almost perpendicular. Find the plane that is the top of the snout and figure out maybe using a box, what the angle perpendicular to that is. The lower jaw should line up with this. Also, from the way it looks in your picture, the dragon is snarling, however, it's root structure for it's top fangs does not seem to have a place! From the curves in the lips, I would expect the root structure to be at least slightly visible on the top. Many aspects of this picture are drawn in completely different perspectives instead of the creature being in one perspective with certain aspects shown and certain ones obscured.  One way to correct this would be to break your object into shapes that you can find around your house cans, small boxes, etc. Use these to find the angles needed. Another way would be to use references from pictures of animals or better yet animals or skulls you have physical access to. See how their skeletal structure works and muscles. See if your animal can function correctly based on these basic principals. It does not matter if the wings etc. Are proportional to let it fly etc. However, it is important that the creature's jaw is not painfully out of place, or other issues with skeletal structure. I do love the coloring, detail, and general ideas of this drawing however. Well done.
