I do have to say that Brave was no inspiration for this painting, much as I like the film, but I was searching for a title and it just fitted, so there we are.

This isn't the first of the paintings that I've done recently, but I thought I'd post it non-chronologically because it's an art trade and I thought it polite not to keep people waiting unnecessarily. These two characters belong to the lovely ~CloudClipper, and their names are Bronco and Luna.

I've been trying to strain towards realism in most of my art for a while now, so it was a great relief with this one to put that aside for a while and to try something more stylised. It's the first time I've looked at a piece without any shading and been able to sincerely say "It looks finished". The splatters are something I've been longing to bring into my work more too, as always =Amadoodles was a great inspiration there. I quite like the mix of splattery paintyness and flat cartoonyness, but I would like to hear what you guys think about it. Also the style of the Cloud Clippers, do you think it works? Do you want to see more of it? Is there anything obvious I need to work on? As always, critiques are loved and helpful comments greatly appreciated.
